Today, we’re announcing that Firebase is now integrated with Google AI Studio, accelerating your path from prompt to production so you can turn your vibe-coded ideas into fully functional apps with robust backends. Read on to learn how this works and what this means for Firebase Studio.
Build full-stack apps with a single prompt
Now, when you’re building an app in Google AI Studio, the agent will proactively detect when you need data storage and user identity based on cues in your prompt - and offer to set up Firestore and Firebase Authentication, with your approval. By clicking “Enable Firebase,” the agent will:
- Set up your Firebase project, provision Firestore, enable Authentication, and connect your app’s codebase to it.
- Create your web app’s sign-in page and configure Authentication with Google Sign In.
- Generate the Firestore code in your app so you can sync data across sessions and devices.
- Draft and deploy Firestore Security Rules based on your app’s logic (but you should always double-check these security rules before sharing or deploying your app!).
A new class of apps with Google AI Studio
This new integration unlocks the ability to use natural language to build a new class of connected, secure, and powerful apps with data persistence and user identity - all with a free tier. This means apps created in Google AI Studio will be able to save data in the cloud, sync data across devices in real time, support offline capabilities, and manage user identities without complex coding. For example, you can now build apps that involve multi-person collaboration and personalized information.

Try the upgraded coding agent in Google AI Studio
In addition to a native Firebase integration, Google AI Studio is launching a completely upscaled build experience that includes a new coding agent built with key components of the agent harness from Google Antigravity. The new Google AI Studio agent can execute complex actions with simpler prompts, iterate faster, and make more precise multi-step code edits. It can even search the vast ecosystem of modern web tools to find the right one for your app and, and with your credentials help you connect to real-world services like payment processors or Google Maps. Focusing our efforts: Sunsetting Firebase Studio
As Google AI Studio evolves, we’re simplifying our AI tools to ensure you have the most powerful, integrated experience. To streamline your workflow and make it clearer where you should start building, we’re beginning the process of sunsetting Firebase Studio. It will remain accessible until March 22, 2027 to give you ample time to migrate to more feature-rich AI developer tools, such as Google AI Studio or Antigravity.
To ensure your work continues uninterrupted:
- Over the coming weeks we’re rolling out a feature in Firebase Studio that lets you automatically package your code and import it directly into Google AI Studio. View our documentation for more information.
- For those of you who want the full IDE functionality of Firebase Studio, you can download your code and continue working in Google Antigravity - Google’s next gen, agentic development platform. Review our documentation for more information.
- If you want to migrate to a different tool, you can export your project by zipping & downloading your code or exporting to GitHub.
- If you’re using Firebase Studio to publish your app, you can continue publishing from Antigravity, Google AI Studio, or any other platform. Learn more.
In Firebase Studio, we’ll continue to provide critical security patches and Gemini model updates, until the sunset date, to ensure your current projects remain stable.
The path forward
As always, we welcome your feedback, either through the community forum or feature requests, especially if you have an edge-case outside of our current migration paths.
Thank you for being part of our journey. We’re excited to welcome you to Google AI Studio and Antigravity as we strengthen our integrations with Google’s leading AI-first tools.
